NABARD AR LIVE SHOW

NABARD Live Augmented Reality Showcase at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai

A cutting-edge Live Augmented Reality (AR) experience developed by C-DIT took center stage on July 12th at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, captivating audiences with an immersive journey into the legacy and impact of NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development).

Organized as part of NABARD’s Foundation Day celebrations, the experience blended green screen technology with real-time virtual backdrops, allowing participants to visualize themselves within significant rural and developmental landscapes—such as village farmlands, self-help group gatherings, and agricultural innovation hubs.

This interactive setup drew enthusiastic participation from guests, dignitaries, and attendees, who were seen marveling at the digitally rendered 3D scenes and archival visuals projected behind them. As they stood in front of a green screen, the live AR system instantly transported them into rural India’s transformative story—showcasing farmers at work, banyan tree gatherings, and NABARD’s decades-long contributions to rural prosperity.

The initiative stood out not just as a technological demonstration but also as a storytelling platform to highlight NABARD’s pivotal role in India’s agricultural and rural development. It aimed to both inform and inspire citizens about the institution’s journey from its inception in 1982 to its continuing mission of empowering rural India.

The project was lauded for its:

  • Educational Value: Simplifying the story of rural finance, women empowerment, and agricultural growth for the general public.

  • Technological Innovation: Real-time AR with 3D immersive environments and integrated archival footage.

  • Public Engagement: Drawing strong curiosity and interaction from participants, making them part of NABARD’s narrative.

This initiative, developed under the leadership of the Kerala Government and C-DIT, demonstrates how immersive technology can bridge the gap between history, impact, and experience—turning institutional milestones into living, interactive journeys.
