NABARD AR LIVE SHOW

A cutting-edge Live Augmented Reality (AR) experience developed by C-DIT has taken center stage, captivating the public with its immersive journey into India’s maritime economy. Organized as part of a public awareness initiative, the experience blends green screen technology with real-time virtual backdrops, allowing participants to visualize themselves at significant maritime locations—such as bustling ports, massive cargo ships, and naval operations.

This interactive setup was showcased prominently at Kanakakunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram, where visitors of all ages—including students, families, and dignitaries—were seen marveling at the digital scenes projected behind them. As they stood in front of a green screen, the live AR system instantly transported them onto docks, container terminals, and naval decks, all rendered with impressive detail and realism.

The initiative is not only a technological showcase but also a public engagement campaign to highlight the critical role of the maritime sector in India’s economic development. It seeks to inform and inspire citizens about India’s growing potential in global trade, shipping infrastructure, and marine technology.

The project is being lauded for its:

Educational Value: Effectively explaining maritime logistics and trade to the general public.

Technological Innovation: Real-time AR experience using high-definition virtual environments.

Public Engagement: Drawing large crowds and fostering curiosity among students and families.

This initiative, developed under the leadership of the Kerala government and C-DIT (Centre for Development of Imaging Technology), reflects how immersive technology can bridge the gap between information and experience—turning passive awareness into active involvement.
